Begin with the live room board
Review departures, stayovers, arrivals, out-of-order rooms, and special requests. Agree on priorities with front office before assigning work.
Assign manageable workloads
Balance assignments using room condition, room type, location, and expected effort—not room count alone. Reassign work when demand changes during the day.
Update status where the work happens
Attendants should record progress and issues promptly. Supervisors can then inspect completed rooms and release them for sale without repeated phone calls.
Escalate maintenance clearly
Include the room, issue, urgency, access notes, and supporting photo when useful. Mark a room out of order only under your property’s agreed control process.
